Concept map maker
A concept map connects ideas with labeled links like “causes” or “is part of”. Build the hierarchy first, then add relationships across branches.
How to use it
- List the concepts as an outline and open it in the editor.
- Select a topic, choose “Connect to another topic…” in the inspector and click the second topic.
- Label the link (for example “absorbs” or “produces”) and choose the arrow direction.
Hierarchy plus relationships
Every map here has a clear tree, which keeps it readable and exportable to outlines. Relationships are stored separately from the tree, so connecting “Chlorophyll” to “Sunlight” with the label “absorbs” never changes which branch either topic belongs to. Relationships are drawn as dashed curves with arrowheads and labels and appear in SVG, PNG and PDF exports.
Use the radial layout for a classic concept-map look, or the org-chart layout when concepts are arranged in levels of generality.
FAQ
What is the difference between a mind map and a concept map?
A mind map radiates from one central idea; a concept map emphasises labeled connections between many concepts. See the guide for when to use each.
