Outline to mind map
Write the way you think — an indented list — and see it as a map. Tabs, two or four spaces, bullets or numbers all work.
How to use it
- Paste an outline where each level is indented one step further.
- If indentation is mixed, the preview warns you and shows how it was read.
- Open in the editor, or download the picture.
How indentation is read
The converter finds the smallest indentation step in your text and treats each multiple of it as one level. If a line jumps more than one level deeper than the line above, it is attached one level down and the preview tells you. A single top line becomes the central topic; several top-level lines are grouped under a new centre.
Bullets such as -, *, +, •, “1.” and “a)” are removed from the topic text. “[ ]” and “[x]” at the start of a line become tasks.
From outline back to map, and back again
In the editor, the Outline panel is a full outliner: Enter adds a line, Tab indents and Shift+Tab outdents, and every change is mirrored on the canvas. Export to indented text, OPML or Markdown when you are done.
