Text to mind map converter
Paste notes, a bulleted list or plain paragraphs. The converter detects the structure and draws a map you can edit — all on your device.
How to use it
- Paste or type text in the box (or open a .txt, .md or .docx file).
- Check the preview — the format it detected is shown above the map.
- Choose a layout and theme, then open it in the editor or download a PNG or PDF.
How the conversion works
Structured text is converted exactly: Markdown headings and bullets, numbered lists, and indented outlines each become a parent-and-child hierarchy in the same order you wrote them.
Unstructured paragraphs go through a small keyword heuristic that runs on your device. Each paragraph becomes a branch named after its most distinctive phrase, its sentences become sub-topics, and a “Key terms” branch collects recurring phrases. It is deterministic and transparent — the same text always produces the same map — and it never adds information that is not in your text.
When to tidy up by hand
Keyword titles are extracted, not written, so rename a branch when the phrase is awkward. Drag sentences between branches, collapse what you do not need and press Tab to add your own ideas.
FAQ
Is my text uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in JavaScript in this tab. The text only leaves your device if you download or share a file yourself.
Which formats does it understand?
Markdown, indented outlines (tabs or spaces), bullets like -, *, • and numbered lists, OPML, FreeMind XML, Mermaid mindmap, CSV and plain paragraphs.
Can it use AI?
Not yet. Optional on-device models are planned and will always be opt-in. Today the tool uses structure detection plus a local keyword method.
